How we work
Coaching, not a bee supplier
Virestaa sells no bees, no equipment and no treatments, and takes nothing from anyone who does. That keeps the advice about your colony rather than about a catalog.
Two things stay with you: checking whether hives are allowed where you live and registering if your state requires it, and following the label on anything you put in a hive. We will remind you, and we will not tell you to ignore either.

The questions we get most
I am allergic to stings. Can I keep bees?
Talk to your doctor first, seriously. Beekeepers get stung. If you have had a systemic reaction, that is a medical conversation before it is a beekeeping one.
Do I need permission to keep bees?
Often yes. Cities, HOAs and states vary, and some require registration. Check before you order bees — we cover how to find the rules, but the responsibility is yours.
Can you tell me what treatment to use?
We can explain monitoring, timing and how to read a label. We are not veterinarians, and some products in the US require a veterinary prescription.
My colony is queenless. Can you fix it by video?
We can help you confirm it and choose between a queen, a frame of eggs or combining. Fast answers matter here, which is why reviews are 24 hours in season.
How many hives should I start with?
Two, if you can. A second colony gives you a comparison and a source of resources when one struggles.
Can I cancel anytime?
